The Grand Magic Hotel is a themed hotel in Magny-le-Hongre, a few kilometres from Disneyland Paris and about 30 km from Charles de Gaulle airport (CDG). It was formerly known as the Magic Circus Hotel, and you may still see the old name on some booking sites. If you are arriving from CDG, you can go by train and the hotel shuttle or take a private transfer straight to the door. Here is how they compare.

About Grand Magic Hotel

Grand Magic Hotel has 396 rooms and suites, built around a magic theme. Instead of a plain lobby, the hotel tells a story: its own materials describe four fantastic parallel worlds, revealed through nightly shows in the Grand Hall from 7 pm, guided by a character called Monsieur Maurice. For children this makes the evening part of the holiday, and for parents it means entertainment that does not need a ticket.

Rooms

The hotel offers double rooms, family rooms, connecting family rooms and suites. Listings describe walls decorated with constellations and bunk beds that children enjoy, and say rooms can sleep up to 10 people together. Rooms have flat-screen TVs, private bathrooms and a safe, and the hotel is listed as a four-star property.

Eating and drinking

  • Chez Maurice is the main restaurant, serving French cuisine as a buffet or à la carte, with breakfast every morning.
  • Le Magic’Hall is the bar, with French gardens by day and a more spectacular setting at night.
  • Room service is available, with limited hours according to listings.

Pool, play and fitness

There is an indoor swimming pool, and listings add a separate children’s pool and an arcade game room, plus a fitness area. A gift shop and concierge service are also listed. The nightly show and the games room mean the hotel has enough to keep children busy on the evenings when they are too tired for the parks but too excited to sleep.

Practical points

  • Parking: free for online reservations, according to the hotel.
  • Shuttle: a free shuttle runs to Disneyland Paris, taking about 8 minutes, and also to the Chessy station. The hotel does not publish exact times in the pages we found, so ask at reception on arrival.
  • Old name: the hotel was formerly the Magic Circus Hotel, and some booking sites still use that name.

Who it suits

Grand Magic suits families with younger children who enjoy storytelling and theming, and groups that need connecting rooms. Guests who prefer a calm, minimal hotel may prefer one of the quieter aparthotels nearby, such as Staycity. Compare it with Dream Castle Hotel, a short drive along the same road.

Facilities, opening times and room types change with the season. These details come from the hotel’s website and booking listings, so confirm anything that matters to you when you book.

Private transfer to the Grand Magic Hotel

The driver meets you at arrivals and takes you to the hotel entrance, which is the easiest way to arrive when you are carrying cases and perhaps a pushchair. After a long flight it also means you reach your room sooner, without waiting for a shuttle or working out connections.

The price covers the vehicle, not each seat, and it does not change with traffic. Groups of nine or more are priced on a larger vehicle, so use the fare calculator for those.

What is included

By train and hotel shuttle

The hotel’s free shuttle serves the Disneyland Paris parks, which are about 8 minutes away, and the Marne-la-Vallée–Chessy station, where the TGV, Eurostar and RER A all stop. So you can reach the hotel by taking the TGV from the Terminal 2 station (about 10 to 12 minutes) or the RER B and RER A (over an hour), and then the shuttle. Look up the shuttle’s current times before you travel, because a late flight can leave you at the station when the service is quiet.

A themed stay

The hotel’s magic theme makes it popular with families with young children, and it is close to the parks and to Val d’Europe. If you are comparing it with other hotels on the same road, see our guides to Dream Castle Hotel and Explorers Hotel, or read about the same route from Orly and Beauvais.

Timing your first day

If you land in the morning, you will probably arrive before check-in opens. That is not a problem: reception can normally store your luggage, and the hotel’s free shuttle, which takes around 8 minutes, can take you straight to the parks while the room is prepared. A private transfer helps here because you reach the hotel as early as possible, drop your cases and are in the park by the time the shuttle timetable would have got you to Chessy.

Cost for a family

TravellersPrivate transferPer person
2€70€35
4€80€20
6€90€15

These are fares for the whole vehicle, and the baby seat or booster is free. If you are unsure how your party is counted, put your numbers into the fare calculator and it shows the exact price.

Getting back to CDG

The return is best arranged at the same time. Many flights leave in the morning, before shuttles and trains run frequently, and a driver at the entrance saves you working out connections with luggage. Give us your departure time and we plan the pick-up for you.

Practical tips

  • Check the hotel’s check-in time, and ask about early luggage drop if you land in the morning.
  • Share your flight number so we can follow your landing time.
  • For the whole trip, read our CDG to Disneyland Paris guide.
