Val d’Europe is the modern town next to Disneyland Paris, known for its large shopping centre, its lake and the many hotels and aparthotels around it. It sits on the same side of Paris as Charles de Gaulle airport (CDG), about 30 km away, so a transfer is quick by road but trickier by train. This guide covers the options, the fares and what to do once you arrive.
Val d’Europe route at a glance
| Option | Typical time | Cost | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Private transfer (Piyo Cab) | About 30–40 minutes | €70 fixed for 1–3 passengers | Door to your hotel or the shopping centre |
| TGV to Chessy, then RER A one stop | About 10–12 minutes plus a short change | TGV ticket (check SNCF for the current fare) | Train timetable must suit your landing |
| RER B + RER A via Paris | 1 hour 10 or more | Paris Region airport ticket (check the current price) | Change at Châtelet–Les Halles |
Fares, timetables and ticket prices change. The figures below are what we found at the time of writing, so check the operator or our price calculator before you travel.
Private transfer to Val d’Europe
A private transfer takes you from the arrivals hall to the exact address in Val d’Europe: a hotel, an apartment, or the entrance of the shopping centre. This matters because many of the aparthotels in the area are a short drive from the station and are awkward to reach on foot with cases. The fare is the same whether you are going to a hotel or to the shopping centre.
| Passengers | Fixed fare for the whole vehicle | About per person |
|---|---|---|
| 1–3 | €70 | €23–70 |
| 4 | €80 | €20 |
| 5 | €85 | €17 |
| 6 | €90 | €15 |
| 7 | €95 | €13.60 |
| 8 | €100 | €12.50 |
The price covers the vehicle, not each seat, and it does not change with traffic. Groups of nine or more are priced on a larger vehicle, so use the fare calculator for those.

By train: TGV and RER A
The TGV runs from the Terminal 2 station to Marne-la-Vallée–Chessy in about 10 to 12 minutes, but it does not stop at Val d’Europe. From Chessy you take the RER A one stop back towards Paris to the Serris–Montevrain–Val d’Europe station, which only takes a few minutes. The alternative is the RER B and RER A all the way through Paris, which takes more than an hour and involves a change at Châtelet–Les Halles. Both work for light luggage but are tiring with a family and big cases.
What is at Val d’Europe
- The shopping centre has around 190 shops and about 30 restaurants and welcomes millions of visitors a year (about 16.5 million, according to the centre).
- La Vallée Village is the nearby outlet village, covered in our La Vallée Village guide.
- Hotels and aparthotels from budget to four stars, including Adagio Serris, Staycity and Moxy.
- The Disney parks are only a few minutes away, which makes it a handy base for a longer stay.
Val d’Europe or Chessy: which station?
If you are staying in Val d’Europe itself, or visiting the shopping centre and outlet village, Val d’Europe station is the one you want. If you are heading straight into the parks or to a Disney hotel, Marne-la-Vallée–Chessy is the terminus right at the entrance. A private transfer removes the decision, because the driver goes to your address.
Val d’Europe, Magny-le-Hongre or Chessy: choosing a base
Three neighbouring places are often confused, and the choice affects how you reach them from the airport.
| Area | What it is | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Val d’Europe (Serris) | The modern town with the shopping centre and an RER A station | Shopping, aparthotels, longer stays |
| Magny-le-Hongre | A quiet village with several hotels on one road, each with a free shuttle | Families who want a calmer setting |
| Chessy | The terminus station beside the Disney parks, with the TGV and Eurostar | Short trips, straight into the parks |
All three lie within a few minutes of each other by road, so the private fare is the same for each. If you are comparing hotels, see our guides to Dream Castle Hotel, Explorers Hotel and Grand Magic Hotel.
Getting around once you are there
The RER A links Val d’Europe with the parks in a few minutes and with central Paris in about half an hour, which makes it a good base for day trips. Local buses and hotel shuttles fill the gaps. If you plan to visit the outlet village, our guide from Paris to La Vallée Village shows how the shuttle and train work.
The return to CDG
For the journey back to the airport, a pre-booked transfer from your Val d’Europe address is the easiest way to be sure of arriving on time. Book it when you book the arrival, and share your flight time so we can set the pick-up. The fixed fare is the same in both directions.
Where to stay around Val d’Europe
Val d’Europe is a base rather than a single hotel, and the choice around it is wide. Which suits you depends on how you plan to spend your days. We have written route guides for many of the hotels, so you can compare the way to each from the airport:
- Aparthotels with kitchens: Adagio Serris, Residhome and Staycity, good for longer family stays.
- Other hotels in Val d’Europe: Moxy Paris Val d’Europe and Relais Spa Val d’Europe.
- Family theme hotels on the Magny-le-Hongre road: Dream Castle, Explorers and Grand Magic, each with a free shuttle to the parks.
The private fare from CDG is the same to all of them, so you can choose the hotel on its merits.
Practical tips
- Give your driver the full address and the name of the building, because the area has many similar blocks.
- Shop and restaurant opening hours vary, so check them before a late arrival.
- For longer stays, see our guide to things to do in Chessy.
